Can I get a RTR?!?!?!

College football season has officially started and that means the Hicks' household is in Alabama football mode! ***We interrupt this marriage to bring you football season*** Addie is all decked out in her houndstooth dress and looking pretty cute. She is sitting in her daddy's lap right now and they are watching the game. Gone are the leisurely Saturday afternoons. Now we will be rushing around to get to the TV in time for the game, or hanging out in T-town! We love us some Alabama football around here.
I have always loved going to the games, and went to several last year while I was prego. Keep in mind that the first few months of being pregnant I was really sick--all day long. The last game we went to it was freezing cold and I had to go find some long johns that my big ol' pregnant self could fit into and changed in stadium bathroom. I was big, pregnant, cold, miserable, and had so many clothes on I could hardly move, but we went to the game and had a good time anyway!
I can't wait to take Addie tailgating and walk around "The Quad". We are going to have some much fun with her this year!

Organizing and Cleaning Out...

I am sitting down to write this because Addie has FINALLY fallen asleep in her swing. I think that baby swings were invented by God Himself and sent down for mommies! We have had a busy day. Well, I have had a busy day and Addie has had to entertain herself. That is not her favorite thing to do. She would rather mommy entertain her all day long. Anyway, I have been cleaning out closets, drawers, cabinets, and more getting ready for a yard sale Saturday. I have found stuff I certainly did not know I still had (such as wedding presents still in the box, and yes I have been married 10 years!) I even cleaned out a cabinet and made room for all of our scrapbook stuff. Maybe I will get better at getting it done with such a handy place for it.
We had a great time at church last night. We had 39 kids in the youth room! Tonight was the first night the new 7th graders moved up. We also had Leadership Team election last night. I think the kids did a great job of electing their peers to lead them. I am so proud of our youth group. When we first started going to Stave Creek we had about 15 or 20 students on Wednesday nights. We are not all about numbers, but it is wonderful seeing students being excited about church enough to invite their friends! I put some pictures of Addie before going to church at the beginning of this post. Everyone at church loves her big bows!

We Will See How This Goes....

So, today I have decided that I wanted to start a blog. Mainly for myself, but I think grandparents would like to keep up with Addie and see what is going on, even on a day to day basis. (Only those close to little precious babies are interested in what they are doing on a day to day basis. I have to remember the saying that goes like this, "Your baby is only cute to you", but I know that I can add grandparents in that saying!) Anyway, I think that I would like to have something that I can keep as a diary of sorts of all the cute stuff she does...therefore the name "Addie's Antics". We will see how this goes. I won't have the time that I do now as soon as I start back to school, but until then, here goes! Have a blessed day!
